How do you continue on after something like this?

Edit: apparently this thing is bugged. Title should read:

"So what've you been up to lately?" ... Her: "Not much"

Try to never ask these boring normal questions.

Try to relate a question to something you know about them.

Like if a girl is into CSI...say something like, hows the crime scene investigationg, solve any big murders?

xghost riderx, my wing, gave me this one. What kind of trouble are you causing today?

you carry on with banter. You tease her about what shes doing.

IDK if this is in person or texting or whatever.

If she asks you what youve been doing lately over text, rarely say what your really doing, unless its awesome and interesting, cuz it usually never is.

Ill go off on how im in asia saving the beached whales. and how when I get the call, i gotta go.

In person, always have an interesting thing ready to shoot off.

Then tease, create a fun SPAM, make her laugh. Be cocky and funny.

Hmm, good idea. So basically, try to avoid it as if it were a yes/no kind of question?

^ The above is a good suggestion if you'd like to continue to converse, converse, converse.

However, if you'd like to TAKE THE GIRL OUT, it's GREAT to ask these obvious questions.

"What have you been doing lately?" . . . "What are you doing this weekend?" . . . "What's up?"

The answer is almost ALWAYS, "Durh, hur, hur . . .?????"

However, you need to have a few 'fun ideas' ready to go. This makes YOU the fun person in her life. Making silly crap up is OK for a few laughs but what would you rather have, a few laughs or a date on Saturday night?

After you ask, "What are you up to?" And she answers, "Oh, nothing really . . ."

What sounds better to you?

"Well, I'm going to hunt tigers, ha ha ha."

Or

"Hey, I hear they just brought a pair of African tigers at the zoo. Let's check it out."

yup exactly. I will do this the second time we text, if not the first. A good rule of thumb is to use text to create attraction, and for logistics, getting the get together set up.

My text game is solid, and your right on.

This goes for FB or texting. stay away from yes no questions, of course you can ask them sometime, but try to switch it up. You want to be different than all the other guys, and asking for a date the minute you start texting her is usually not good. Once you learn a few of these things that will make you more interesting to the girl, most of the time she will suggest a hang out.

As Spye said, don't use such vague and boring questions. But if you did (in which you did), and she replies with something like "Not Much", bust her on this.

Something like "gee, aren't you the busy one". Call her out. But don't be rude, don't push it too much or it might be something personal and she might take it the wrong way.

But if you want to avoid all these risks in the first place, don't ask these kinds of questions as Spye said lol.
