So I met this girl at a party and it turned out we had a lot of mutual friends, we didnt talk long but I found her on facebook and we have chatted often. The other day I saw her at another party and chatted her up and got her number and she asked me to lunch since we both work close to each other (we're both 18 with summer jobs before school starts). But today she randomly texted me to question if I knew some guy and I said I didn't but she said he might be joining us for lunch. WTF. I don't want to be in the friend zone already! should I flake? I want her to take me as a serious romantic option
thanks in advance

It could be that she is trying to play both of you off each other as in competing and that is a very bad route to go down and something that you should never do! . Never agree to meet her on those terms as it just going to create un-wanted jealousy and awkwardness.
What sort of girl is she? Has she got a lot of guys around her as friends?
Dont worry I think the other guy will be on the same boat as you it is not a friend zone boat more like a "lets see guys fight over me boat" . I might be making too many assumptions though.

In a joking manner, I would ask her if she has anymore friends that can join you guys for lunch. I would definitely meet up. If the other guy comes, I would pay attention to him the whole time and just chat it up with him. Your girl should get jealous and be more attracted to you if you don't pay her a lot of attention.
