I know that congruence is important, but is it good to show her a variety of dispositions?

I work with a girl I like and I'm always very playful and teasing around her. I know she likes me, but latley she has cooled off on the IOIs. Until the other day when I came to work dead tired because I had literally no sleep the night before.

I wasn't my usual energenic self and she noticed it right away. I wasn't being grumpy, I simply didn't have the energy to be animated. She kept saying things like "Im going to give you happy pills." and calling me "crabby cakes", but she was obviously intrigued by my behavior.

She started rubbing my arm, asked me to go to lunch with her, kept telling me that she had a six pack and offering to show it to me, and just paying more attention to me in general.

What gives?

Maybe she just got too used to you making so much effort into liking her. She obviously knew that you were into her when you were doing this and eventually she took you liking her for granted. When you come in one time a little off mood and not really caring about her she starts to doubt this. She starts to wonder if you actually still do like her and misses all the fun and teasing that you usually do with her.

My advice is to act not interested for a bit and see where it leads you. I mean it cant do any harm. Just be totally cool and relaxed around her but dont try to be funny or arrogant much. Imagine it if you now had a really hot girlfriend and you dont really find her all that cool. Keep it up and maintain for as long as possible until shes so desperate for a date.
