You don't have to use a wingman, but it does make things easier.
If you're going out with a wingman, you have to be 110% sure in him. You need to make sure that both of you know exactly what you're doing.

Holding a set on your own is hard and all the pressure is focused mainly on you, and you must be willing to take that pressure, cause if the sets feels uncomfortable in your presence, then you will get blown out.
