i was looking into getting into the mystery method but now that i found out how publicized it was (VH1 series: The Pick Up Artist) i've been looking around and it seems like alot of people don't use it anymore. is it because there are way more new methods to choose from? or is it because the Mystery Method actually has become well known to the female gender?

its not the the mystery method is dead, its because rather then invent material, they recycle the same lines over and over, any guy can recite lines over and over however it takes a master to create and use his own material, i believe its the fear of failure so they use lines that they think are guaranteed but then they become dependant on that line or routine

As a cookbook I would agree that it is dead but if you take it with a grain of salt it is a good teaching tool. Many of the concepts like negging, DHV, and hoops are all explained quite clearly. Just dont use any of the routines in the book and you should be fine.

I would also take it easy on the peacocking...unless you want to get laughed at.

Here we go again...

Another one of those "Mystery Method sucks" threads...

I won't even waste my breath to tell you why you are wrong... this subject has been discussed millions of times...

Mystery Methods works and it can give you dramatic results just like anyone else's method, if not more. But Mystery Method isn't for everyone.

Either you choose to roll with it, or don't

If you do, I advice you to read Revelation and the Pickup Artist, Mystery's latest books.

his M3 model will never die IMO. It is a step by step logical way to first approaching a girl to getting her in bed. Maybe some of his lines may be dated, but the foundation of the MM will never get dated. Humans have been behaving the same way for thousands of years and its not going to change because of a 5 year old book/method.

Even Mystery says that his lines will become obsolete, but the Method won't, I was slightly skeptical, but after using a few tips in there, they do work and I understand now why they do

EVERY METHOD IS DEAD

Methods have too much reasoning. "I'm going to do this now... I'm going to do that. now time to..." you get the point.

Any time you you do something this way, it seems too 'deliberate', and as if you are seeking a reaction. Which instantly makes most things weird.

This will be a major hindrance in your 'game'.

I somewhat agree with most canned material. But Natural Game that is called a method isn't really dead. Like GWM, Vin Dicarlo, Adam Lyons, and many many more, they are all Natural PUAs so their stuff can never die since it is within you and not something that is really consciously done (In time of course).

The funny part is that everyone calls it "game", but they never really think about it in those terms.
Lets use a football analogy (though just barely).
There are certain fundamentals and basics in football that will never change, no matter how much the game or it's players evolves over time. You might have 100 coaches with a 100 different kinds of plays, but football is still football. Every coach has his own interpretation of how the game should be taught and played, but it is still an interpretation of the same game. Same goals, same rules, same game; no matter how much the strategy of playing it varies.

Obviously some players are going to have better natural abilities, and sometimes it won't seem fair. But almost anyone who is dedicated enough to go through the conditioning and training can become a great player. We might not all make it to a pro level, but we can at least play to the best of our abilities.

In football we start off practicing plays, over and over, till they seem so fluid and natural that we can do them on instinct. There is a lot of failure in practice, but the more we practice the less we fail.

Eventually you do enough plays and play enough games, that you don't need to rely on somebody else's plays, you understand the game well enough you can write your own plays (at the coach level).

So in summery, no styles ever die, they will always work for someone somewhere. Styles are necessary to improve confidence and skill. Eventually with enough work, your goal is to rise above your style and be your own guru.

Every expert contributes their information to the wealth of knowledge available. I think that mystery discovered some interesting things, namely, that a seduction can be broken down into different stages. Each of which presents a unique challenge.

It's like in a science class, there wasn't one guy that invented biology. Each person had his own theories which he experimented with and those became part of the wealth of understanding.

Also, why is it that there is all of a sudden this post-modern death to all systems and methods thing going on here.

yeah, nothing works perfectly but that doesn't mean its not useful.
