How can I overcome 'Invitation Phobia'?

I don't know why it is so challenging for me to invite more than two girls(even guys) to have dinner I cook. Strangely, there's no problem to invite a girl.

In my head, I have some negative thinking like 'I'm a host, but I have no idea how to entertain guests..They will be disappointed with me then everything will go wrong.' something like this..

What's wrong with me?

you lack confidence.

have a look at a few "how to be a good hostess" books from the 50's (because sexual equality killed off that sort of book :P)

the hosts job isn't to "entertain". the hosts job is to keep conversation flowing in case it drops off, but each guest is to contribute!
