Sometimes when I’m talking to something while standing, I’ll have my hands in my pockets. The way I do it is I have my 4 fingers inside my pockets with my thumbs sticking out.
Is this a DLV? Does it communicate awkwardness or insecurity or lack of confidence? Or does it not mean anything and it’s actually normal (as in do lots of people do it)? Or is it proper in some situations and bad in others?
If this is a bad way to stand around while waiting or in general, what do you guys do?

Just because you dont keep your hands in your pocket does not mean your going to get laid.
She is not going to think to herself WOW this guy does not keep his hands in his pocket.
Be aware of it & the times you do it like when your by yourself in a social gathering. You'll find yourself doing it when your feeling insecure or something & thats the issue you need to tackle.

Hands in pocket is a Body language thing. Personally, I find it makes you look smaller, compared to hand out where you take up more space. Also it might bring your shoulders forward and down. AND THAT is a big problem. Slouching shoulders is something to watch out for, cause in body language it means i'm not in control, im not the boss, im not confident. You look smaller n everything like you're someone's b*tch
last night i was at this club, this slouching dude with a hand in his pocket approached these girls, who immediately dismissed him! Now, he wasn't a total afc either, he told the girl "fuck off! you ain't shit" so obvioulsy he didnt feel like they were superior to him, but his hand-in-pocket---> slouching shoulders were working against him, they made him look unconfident, the girls had decided they didnt want him at the first glance
