I have a picture of my friend's daughter (she's 18 months old) on my phone, and it's a really cute pic. I show it to women when I do the "my pic will beat your pic" line and I always make sure to mention that she's not mine, she's my friends' daughter in FL (I'm in NY) but that her daughter is adorable and I love kids. I don't go too crazy into kids, I just say yea she's cute, I love kids and that's that.

So far I'm seeing mixed results...some open up to me more, some stay the same.

Do you think this hurts my chances if I'm looking for hook-ups and NOT LTR? I don't know if they see this as LTR because I like kids and could be a potential suitor down the road, thus sealing off sexual advancement. OR if they see me as the "protector of loved ones" that Mystery talks about. I'm just trying to show that her daughter is cute, I like kids in hopes that this will open up more convos and build comfort, which I can then build into attraction.

Just say that the kid is cute. Don't get too into it.

It's probably not doing any harm if you don't say that you love kids so much, etc.

Yea I don't get into it, I just say she's cute and I like kids and that's that. If they take it from there, I give a bit more input but I'm not like omg I love kids and want them so bad.

Yea true. I usually show it after they show their pics or I comment on their pics, mention my friends daughter and they ask to see her. I've asked other female friends about it and they said it's just showing off a friends' daughter and that they do it and so do other guys that they know. I show the pic, say "isn't she cute?" or something to that effect, then drop it. It's a 10 second clip during our normal convo.

Personally I'd find it a turnoff, as I don't want children and dislike children very much. I'd be like HELL NO lol, even if you brought it up casually. I wouldn't even go near you in bed after that one. So basically, it could be good for girls who do like children, but that shit could backfire on you too especially if it's just for a hookup.

EDIT: Also, if someone said that shit to me, I'd misread it as "I expect you to have my baby if we took things further" and I'd think about pregnancy, and be highly discouraged to take things any further with you. It would be like single handedly the worst thing to say to any other girls who share my chain of thought.

I'd also feel, possibly even if I did want kids, that you were needy and wanting to settle down real quickly. Guys can't be needy like that. For example I'd really like to get married, but if some guy said look at this wedding ring isn't it pretty, I'd be like HELL NO. You get me?
