I know allot of you think text game is superfluous, but when you're my age, in high school, its something you have to accept that you're gunna need to deal with. I had a really bad case of oneitis a while back with a hb8. Initially she was attracted to me but I ended up driving her away with a ton of classic clingy AFC mistakes. Before I write any more, I'd just like to say that I've been over her and involved in other girls for a while and the oneitis has been out of my system. A few nights ago, I was surprised to receive a text from her at 2 in the morning (yeah i know, im nocturnal):

2:05am-HB: DONT BE SLEEPING!!!
2:30am-Me: I'M NOT SLEEPING!!!! whats good short stack?
2:32am-HB: GOOD! Short stack?
2:34am-Me: you're shorter than me...
2:36am-HB: haha i like it! nm... u, tall stack? that doesnt work as well...
2:38am-Me: Im too freeeee to be labeled...
2:41am-HB: well im sorry to offend you with my condescending labels... it shall not happen again.
2:47am-HB: So howz your summer been? i havent seen u in forever!
2:52am-Me: Wups almost fell asleep. its been pretty great but its way too short. the dance was fricken awesome though! *Some friends of mine dj their own private dances. They are notorious for being extremely raunchy. A friend of mine kiss closed 30 girls in one venue... but I digress*
2:54am-HB: really? i heard it was the worst one yet. like wicked small and bright... well glad u had a good time! whod you go with?
2:57am-HB: STOP FALLING ASLEEP ON ME! god! im the only one awake cuz im friggan nocturnal!
2:58am-Me: I went with *other hb*, *pivots and afc friends*. *other hb* just sat there like a blob and *blah blah blah blah things that happened to pivot*
3:00am-HB: haha *not suprised at pivot drama*... lol glad u had fun. wait r u and *other HB* together?
3:01am-Me:bahaha nope. i thought she was cute but she turned out to be kinda boring i guess. i just dance with underclassmen while she sat down for most of it
3:03am-HB: haha robbin the craddle... nice! oh ya? good. i didnt like her... shes not ur type...
3:06am-Me:Yee i agree. Not my type at all ... so hows your summer been?
3:08am-HB: *blah blah blah blah*... so why havent i seen u all summer? too cool to hangout with me?
-Me: Shit I can't believe school starts next week... *sent at same time*
3:10am-HB :ya i know right? we only have *#days left of vacation*!
3:10am-Me:yeah i kinda didnt wanna have my reputation tarnished with the likes of you but maybe we cam hang out before summers over
3:11am-Me: I'm pretty tired... i think im goin to bed. Have fun being nocturnal!
3:13am-HB: ya maybe... if u wont b humiliated being seen with me...
3:13am-HB: arrgghhhh... fine goodnight

At this point I knew I had made a few mistakes by not building more sexual tension, but I felt fairly confident that I had her in the bag. Three days later:

11:25am-Me: Hey you!
11:30am-HB: Yello!
11:43am-Me: I think I saw *HB's brother* at the carnival tonight... Were you there?
11:45am-HB: no i wasnt there but ya that was probably himn! he was there!
11:51am-Me: ohh... it was wicked fun! you missed out! haha im so sad that vacations over in two days. you should hang out with me either *next two days*

I never got a response after that. I realize that things would be easier if just got another form of communication, but I haven't seen this HB for months. I can barely consider myself as an Rafc so I'd really be thankful for any insight you have to offer.

I really thought I had this one so needless to say, I'm kinda disappointed. I would be extraordinarily grateful if I could get any opinions on this so that I may not make the same mistakes in the future. Thanks.

Your text game was tight. You had her right where you wanted her. She was hinting that she wanted to hang out with you and then you (drum roll)…….. WENT TO BED???????

You should have asked her out right then when her buying temperature was high. There was no need to game her any further at that point and definitely no need to abort. It would have been worth it to stay up another 10 minutes and ask her out no matter how tired you were. Girls are emotional and always changing their minds. You gotta capitalize when a girl’s buying temperature is high whether it is over text, over the phone, or in person.

Also, when a girl texts you that late there is a good chance that she has been drinking and/or is feeling lonely which increases her buying temperature.

If it has been a few days since the last text then you should give her a call. DON’T TEXT HER. Calling her will show that you are serious about hanging out. You need to show her this because YOU are the one who acted flaky. Chat with her for a little and ask her out again at a high point in the conversation.

If you get her voicemail, just say “hey it's (name), give me a call”. Then hang up and don't contact her again. Wait for her to contact you.
