So people tell me I have a Russian accent (its actually romanian) when I speak English. This seems to be a huge turnoff since often times it makes me talk in a slow voice.
Some girls like it but others don't. Any idea how to fix this ? Practice a fake accent ? Only go for east european girls ?

If a girl is as snobby as to not appreciate a foreign accent and not find it interesting I wouldn't say they are worth your time getting to know and probably not for you anyway.
I wouldn't recommend faking an accent unless you're trying to attract a 'fake' girl. If that's the case, go right ahead but make sure you're good at it.
The certain thing is once you meet someone know and starts to escalate, they're going to find about the accent sooner or later. I have a light belizean/spanish accent which is inconsistent on a day to day basis. I do whatever feels most comfortable.
