I'm doing my own 30 day challenge to get me motivated - I've tried the newbie missions here and had some difficulty with them, so I decided to do a create-your-own (hopefully with input from you guys!)
Due to work and such commitments, I will be taking 60 days for this challenge, with two days to do a challenge (a challenge a day is not possible with my work schedule), using any free time on the non-challenge days to reflect and analyise the previous day. I'll be using this thread to post in as I go along, and it will serve as a motivational and resource tool.
Suggestions for the challenges are very much welcomed as I will be creating them with the success of previous challenges in mind. I may need some suggestions at times to push me that little bit further
My first challenge was today.
Challenge 1: Approach three women of any age and ask them either for directions or for the time.
Status:
Completed.
Analysis: All the women in this challenge were middle aged and not very attractive. Conversation was brief and functional, and openers were not thought out or used. I approached with a smile, and ejected from the conversation after the appropriate information had been given.
The first two participants were happy to oblige, but the third woman looked rather annoyed although did not appear to be in a hurry. I believe this may be because she was walking in an opposite direction to me and had to stop to converse (the other two were walking in my direction and sitting), however there could be so many reasons for this.
Overall, I had some nerves but didn't find this too difficult - I deliberatly left my watch and phone at home so it felt a bit more legitimate asking for the time, and I wasn't intimidated by the women as they were not very attractive.
If I take enough small steps I will eventually reach my destination and I'm nervous but excited about the next one - suggestions for Challenge 2 (bear in mind these are meant to be very small steps up) are welcomed, as are comments!
