| So I've had a thing for my best female friend for a long time. Here's cliffs on the BS I've been dealing with:
-I assumed I was friendzoned, so I bluntly told her how I felt about her just to get it off my mind.
-Her response was confusing as shit. I wasn't in the friendzone, but she didn't want to date this semester, she was still into her EX, she didn't want to risk our friendship by dating, bla bla bla.
-As most would assume, I though she was letting me down easy. I asked her to be completely blunt, and she said that was blunt.
-I decided to get over it, and was succeeding for awhile.
-Unfortunately, pretty much every time I get distant enough to get over it, she'll say or do something to reel me back in. It escalated this last week; I told her that my best friend's girlfriend was trying to hook me up with this random girl. The reply I got was, "I don't know why but I get jealous when I hear about girl you like." So I told her that I only get jealous like that when I'm into someone.
-A couple of days later I noticed that she was acting different, and extremely flirty. I tried to ignore it because of what she told me months earlier, but a day later we were watching a movie at my place, and she did the "I want to kiss you" look and leaned in and kissed me. We made out for a few minutes, that was about it.
-So at that point I was wondering if she changed her mind, or was just trying to keep me on a leash for attention. After all, she is a self confessed attention whore, and she admits to playing games and such. I had no idea what to think.
-Fast forward a couple of days, and she is packing to go home. I'm laying on her bed, and she's standing over me getting a poster off the wall. She motions towards me slightly, as if she is going to lean in for a kiss. She suddenly stops, and says, "Dmacfour... you are really attractive. You need to find a cute girl over the summer."
-So at that point I stopped being talkative for a half an hour cause she flip flopped again which pissed me off. She knew something was wrong, but I said I was fine. I let her leave for the summer without saying anything about it. I'm extremely pissed about what she did; it's like a slap in the face.
SOOOOOO... I've been debating in my mind how to handle the situation when she gets back in a couple of months. I already know that she is using hot/cold techniques to keep me giving her attention. She wants to comfort I can give her, without getting involved in a relationship. She's a committaphobe, and has been noncommittal towards any guy this whole semester.
What strategy should I use to turn the table and make her chase after me? Also, how can I convince her to take a risk and give dating me a chance? Because she's going to lose me like she fears if she keeps playing these games with me.
