I hear that guys who are shy with women and are sexually repressed were raised in those types of environments. My dad has told me since I was like 10 how he was really good with girls, a natural, and how to do it. I never really tried any of it because I wasn't interested in girls that much yet. But now I feel awkward saying pussy around my friend. I say vagina, talk about porn I have watched, and even talked about specific girls. But words like tits, pussy, etc just feel weird. I also can say boobs or breasts. But I'm still a virgin, granted I'm only in High School, but I haven't had a kiss or a girlfriend, only a date with a girl I didn't like. And the date was horrible and I acted like such an AFC, not talking, shy, only talked to one person (it was like a group date thing). But I hear about people being raised in Mormon households and have problems with girls. But I was, and still am, being raised in a relatively openly sexual household, so what is my problem? Is it hereditary?

Most guys just end up this way through an unfortunate set of circumstances ... For example you might have been bullied as a kid or got rejected alot... However, there's strong evidence for a condition, which isn't yet scientifically proven, that might affect you. It's called love shyness and is on wiki . . . Google it.

I read it, seems very interesting and a lot like me. The only thing is I wasn't ever severely bullied, a few name calling that I think was unintentionally hurtful but still lowered my self esteem. But that does describe the way I feel around girls I like and even sometimes girls I don't like. Because I am totally fine with men, I can strike up random conversations and make them laugh easy. And I listen to rock and metal all the time, I don't like country and I don't normally listen to easy-listening other than R.E.M. and the Smashing Pumpkins which are more alternative than easy-listening.
