I'm just starting to have a lot of doubt lately. I just started pick-up, and went out opening some sets in the day doing direct approaches for 3 days in a row. It was supposed to just be practice, but I'm having a hard time viewing it as such.

Getting blown off over and over and over again is really taking its toll. Honestly, I thought it'd be good to expand my comfort zone and all that jazz in order to grow, but now I feel some pretty hardcore depression settling in and taking hold of me. It doesn't feel like its going to wear off...has anyone else ever faced this? How did you get over it?

I also find myself really doubting a the validity of pick-up in general; just seems to be so much trash talking about everyone else not really being good, or hiring paid folks to make things look more real just to sell products, etc etc. I swear it just all comes back to looks...

What books have you read? Or any videos you've watched? I find a lot of it is hard to just jump into. I'm totally the same way I have bad AA. Currently I'm watching the Tyler Durden's Blueprint DVDs. It's definitely tough to get past it all when every girl just shuts you down. But one thing I've found is that when you go up and try one thing, you gotta try something else. You adapt to the situation you know. If you go up and say something like "If I wasn't gay you'd be so mine" and she says no, I wouldn't. Try changing the delivery a bit. Are you carrying yourself well? Do you walk in with confidence? My heart beats like crazy as I approach girls but before any of this I couldn't even talk to a girl who started talking to me first. I started by watching David DeAngelo's stuff and took it the wrong way and I ended up just being an asshole. But oddly enough it got me girls, than I worked off of that and read more and watched more from different PUA's. Try not caring how the girls will respond, don't go into it thinking I'm trying to get a kiss from this girl. Go into saying I'm fucking bored let's just talk.

And also go into realizing your new.

Take the game of tennis... highly skill based, and not many, if any at all, people can simply walk up, grab a tennis racket, and be close to decent.

Then also take the game of basketball... Someone can easily walk up and sink some 3's, leading people to believe he/she is good at game. (Not to offend any basketball players out there.)

Realize that pickup is more like tennis. It requires hard work and self-realization.

I know what you mean, and trust me, it gets hard some times. Find other things to occupy your time as well. Personally I work out a lot, and this helps my physical appearance AS WELL AS AND MORE IMPORTANTLY my mental confidence.

Go with friends to a bar. Go out not thinking you want to practice pickup but more as if you want to have fun. The depression will disappear after one success, it did for me at least.

Take a look at this
