Ok here’s my situation I dated this girl I went to high school with after our first year of college. We dated for around 2 years and we were in love. We went to colleges that were 4 hours away but we saw each other over breaks and made visits one weekend of each month. Neither of us were really ready for this serious of a relationship at the time and we needed to grow up a bit. We ended up fighting a lot and breaking up. During the break up we continued to fight more and grew apart.

We have been broken up for about a year and a half now and hadn’t talked in about 6 months so I figured she had moved on and was over me. Recently she would call and text me while drinking saying she still loved me and misses me. I told her how I feel and she then would ignore my calls sober so I stopped trying again. Last weekend it happened again and it was much earlier in the night so I knew she wasn’t too drunk yet. We talked about it the next day and I explained I still had feelings for her and if she doesn’t she has to stop calling me drunk. She said she still has feeling for me but doesn’t know if we can not fight as much as we used to and what would be different this time. I told her that I have grown up as a person from the last time that we have talked. Basically we decided to start over and just start texting again at first. I texted her the next day and she ignored it (even after she told me to text her the night before) I just ignored it and texted her the next day we talked for a bit and it went well. I decided to not be too pushy and not text her the day after that. That’s where I am now.

I’m not really sure how to approach this and any tips would be a huge help. I know once we start re-getting to know each other again she will fall in love with me again but she seems to be afraid to get hurt again and doesn’t want to believe things will be different.
