I find myself now more than ever, trying to think of things to talk about to girls. I feel that I will touch on a rough subject to them or most of the time not even know what to talk about. I try and be clever and sound funny but half the time it just sounds weird. I have been really doubting my material and have been looking for new stuff. Recently I have been watching countless videos off of youtube(thank god for it). I still can't shake this feeling though. I think I'm gonna just start all over with everything.

The more you over think this the worse it will become. All you need to do to fix this is to chit chat with random people. Talk about the weather with some person you are in line with. Or better yet go out tomorrow to the store and buy something and talk about the Super Bowl to the cashier.

i get a problem like this too, all though i'm very talkative i never chit chat i usually talk about subjects that interest me, but getting the conversation to go that way is not allways easy.
but lately i devised a nice plan - i use some of the openers and/or DHV games/chick crack to get into talking about psychology or any other topic i'm really into, that way i don't get lost in meaningless chat where i don't feel "at home"...
so if you just try getting the conversation to a place of your choosing you'll have an easier time talking without getting stuck (and if the girl can keep up you'll like her more) its like in the book "the art of war" you have to choose the battleground be it the venue of the pick up or the subjects you talk about..

but i'm trying to practice chit chat too so i wont have this "hole" in my game and can be versatile and adaptive..
by the way.. ever get annoyed that when you were in a set you were told stuff and couldn't come up with a good comeback but after you're back home analyzing what you did you can come up with a great response in like two seconds?
god i wish i had a way to just stop and think about a come back while IN the set and not after..

If you think about what you will talk about more you will freeze. You don't have to think, you have to feel it. You have to learn to just have a casual talk with someone you don't know. It's like with your friends, you don't think about what you will talk about. It have to become natural. Talk about something arround you, like the funny guy at the corner who's trying to buy porn. The conversation will follow and then you do what you learned (DHV, neg ect.).

lol you know, i must say i was paying more attention to the girls i was talking to before i ever came across any PUA related material. now, between dealing with AA and trying to figure out what routines to say and in what order i have less attention free to put on the girl..

guess this is due to a phenomena called the audience effect - when a task is simple or well practiced having an audience will facilitate it and otherwise if it is complex and poorly practiced it will be inhibited.

its like juggling really - we have to break it down to the smallest skills and practice them until it comes natural..than build on them..

and if it means doing 20 mins a day of free fall writing than so be it :)

Hobbit thanks for the links, I'll try them out this weekend. I'll just find a good spot( prehaps the mall, seeing as how the park is frozen over)
