now this can be hard mate really hard.. here is what i would do
if your girl and him hang out, say you want to meet him just for the hell of it. thats a start. when you meet him, you are going to be super cool with him, shake his hand real hard, stare him in the eyes, and put a big devilish grin on your face. this will show that you are alpha, and also show the girl that your arnt immature and wont fight the guy. that is key if you look better/smarter/more relaxed than he does, she will think highly of you and less of him. when you guys hang out or meet, make sure you show that you are with this girl, make a direct point of it. hold her hand when you walk up, kiss her goodbye or just mention to her that you wanna go on a date tonight, just you and her and do something she loves to do. again, this will show that you care bout her and that you are better then him. lastly, be a threat to the guy. if her and him are gonna hang out, and your just dropping her off just put your arm around him and say "now this girls right here (point to her) is real special to me mate and its important that you dont let any guy touch her, and if any guy does make moves on her tonight i will personally talk to him one on one. is that cool man?" give that grin to him and squeeze him a little. now this shows infront of the girl that again you care, but also that you say "some guy" isnt implying him infront of her, but to him, it is implying him and i guarantee he will be worried to not do anything
now idk if this is how you want to go about it, but some guy did this to me and i nearly shat my pants the way he did it, it was extremely intimidating and honeslty made me avoid the girl he was with. so it works, you just need to play it off right. if he makes a move, you and your buddy will talk to him one on one, that is on your own no advice needed
