I met this girl before the course started... a few of us met up for pre-drinks then went clubbing. At the time I was in the 'she's WAY out of my league, I'll just be nice' frame of mind. Have spoken to her only a couple of times since. Then a couple of weeks ago, we had to do presentations on what we'd like to do for our group projects. I did my presentation, then she did hers a few minutes later... I was staring at the projector screen and she said 'Jim.. if you're listening, maybe we could integrate your idea into mine' or something along those lines. After the demonstrations finished, I went up to her and we grouped up.

We did some group project work, at one point we (the group, 5 people) were standing outside in a corridor waiting for the rest of the group (2)... She starts staring intently at my neck. I thought she had spotted a fly or something. Then she reached out with her hand and stroked my neck very slightly with her finger and was like 'tehehe.... I thought that was a hicky'. At this point I though 'mm that's either a really good sign or just weird'.

Later on..

Amy has the tendency to look at any work that anyone is doing on the group project and instantly point out all of the bad stuff, rather than the good stuff. I started negging her about this... making some jokes about it 'I better not show you or you'll criticise me etc'. On Saturday, her friend decided to invite the whole group to her house for a social meetup on Sunday evening. When I negged her loads on Sunday, she came and rested her head on my chest for a second or two and said 'I'm sorry.........'. On Sunday night I carried on negging her loads, and then she locked up as if I had really hurt her feelings. I said 'I'm sorry... I'm just kidding', and another girl in the group said 'It's just cause he likes you, it's what boys do'. A few minutes later she was okay again.

Monday evening I sent her an email about the project, she ended her reply with ":) filakia, Amy x"... 'Filakia' is Greek (her native language) for 'kisses' apparently. Her second reply had loads of emoticons... kind of in a flirty way.

This morning, I went to her room to speak to the girls about the project. She was with her friend (the one who invited us to her house). I was talking to them both, and her friend said something like 'Why don't you just ask her for a coffee' (broken English, her friend is foreign). I made a joke out of it, but I knew that she meant to say 'just ask her out for a coffee'.

She is really flirtatious, but I think that's just how she is, however her friend saying about the coffee and the 'kisses' email makes me think that something is there for real. We stare into each other's eyes all the time, but only when we're actually talking to each other... not like a silent stare.

I think I should ask her out for a coffee, how do I do that if I can't get her alone at uni? I've got her # and email. Also do you think she's actually interested, or could she just be flirtatious? I can't say I've noticed her doing any of this to the other two guys in my group.

Bro she is wanting you man, she is giving "IOI's" left right and centre , when a girls friend starts to hint about taking her out it is defo for real, women talk about everything, they gossip, they probably even tell each other what they're piss colour was 5 minutes back.

When your next around her, just say, your going out later, ask if she wants to join for a few drinks? Simple man, no harm in doing it around others, have you got her number? Run some kino on her too, she what the reactions are like, girls dont always wait forever either, so take your chance, or risk losing it.

I have her number... I'd prefer to ask her in person though. Any suggestions other than "drinks", that's not really my kind of thing, and I don't think she likes pubs. Do you think anything that involves staying at uni is a bad idea?

I have really never gotten to this stage before, so treat me like a total newbie please.

Ask if she'd like to go shopping with you over the weekend as your looking for a shirt " make some crap up" and you would like a girls opinion who you THINK has style (that being a minor neg) go to a shop, pretend it isn't in stock anymore, then you have her alone, you can grab a coffee, maybe a bite to eat?
