Why not go for the alpha girl? If you like her then thats your target. You identify her by the way the others look up to her. They agree with her and she normally call the shots.

The beta's of the group will look to the alpha after making comments or suggestions to the group to elicit the alphas response or confirmation,it's pretty quick though just a glance with a slight intake of breath held for a few seconds.
