Just say, "Hey, something came up, I have a meeting at work now, so how's about we change it to _____?" If I'm speaking verbally then I make it more of a statement than a question that we're gonna reschedule for that day, but if it's via text or something (only if you can't do it verbally) then I'll use a question mark.
