I like this online opener and really want to get the feel of how to deal with all the types of initial responses

That is a horrible opener. Absolutely awful.

Firstly it makes you look like a creepy FB stalker ("hey I thought this was you"), second it makes you look like a gross manwhore ("I have your belt"), third it makes you look way too excited (three exclamation points, really?)

The "I thought it was you" can easily be translated as this guy is looking for an excuse to talk and it's a pathetic one at that. If you "think" it's this chick, then you don't need to tell her that you think it's her. Just straight up act like you already know her from that night.

The "BTW if you want your belt back…You know where to come for it! LOL" Just makes you seem creepy as fuckkkk. Yeah preselection is a good thing to display, but this isn't how it's done. Plus you already told her that YOU'RE the one who had to leave early, so where exactly are you hiding this belt of hers? Because this implies that you were out somewhere, not back at your pad.

You're clearly trying to gun out some cocky comedy on this, but that can be hard to pick up over the internet.

Simple, doesn't sound creepy, and shows some preselection.

As far as responding to this chick, it's time to bail on this one. Just say "Oh my bad must have gotten the wrong person". But it's gameover with this chick. Better luck next time dogg.

LOL this reminds me of a toned down GENUINE line I used once.


I came across this girls profile as she commented on my friend's thing after me, and she looked like one of the three chicks who 'harassed' me the other night.


Turns out it wasn't her (I thought it was), and that she was an old neighbour. How coincidential no wonder she looked familiar.









Anyway... in regards to addig 'LOL' at the end of things... I don't do this anymore, and I hate people who do, because...

1) People tend to use it after things that they're nervous about. Just how a nervous laugh would be used in real life to battle potential awkwardness.

2) If not because of the previous reason, it's usually because someone is saying, 'hey, this was supposed to be funny, laugh please'.

Basically, it just shows complete lack of confidence in what you're saying.

I tend to say 'LOL' as a reaction to something and before whatever I write.


Sounds fussy, but hey, I know what I'm talking about... 'LOL'

Finesse I've never heard that about saying "LOL" before but definitely makes sense and I'll keep that in mind

and with the girl well I gave up hope but replied just for fun saying
"oh shit buddy, wrong person!...wow I hope you didn't actually go check your belts haha"
