I met this girl locally and there was attraction between us but she had very little in the way of interests to talk about, any ideas how to deal with this situation? Just talk a lot myself?

Is she not comfortable enough with you that she doesn't speak that much yet?
Are the topics you bring up to interesting for her to join into the conversation?
Or is she introverted and doesn't like to speak much?

If I would be in this situation I would find out what the reason is. Ask her a couple of power questions (lead them in with a small story). Talk about some chick cracks. If she is still not talking much but you are sure that she is attracted to you, she is probably quite introverted. If I still would be attracted to that girl I would take her out doing something active (dancing, shopping, seeing arts, whatever), you both are not forced to speak and you can build rapport with spending time together.

Don't try to fill every silence with words. It comes of as insecure and she will notice it.
