FIELD REPRT: Thailand vs China

I was waitering at Restaurant 88 which is considered to be one of the best asian cuisine in town. There was a table of four customers, composed of 2 HBs and a pregnant couple. Served the table up to the dessert part.

TORNADO: Would you guys like any desserts?

PREGGERS: Ummm...I’m not sure if I should get the ice cream or not.

TORNADO: Well if I was the baby, I would love some ice-cream right now.

HB7 (obstacle): How do you know? Are you the dad?

TORNADO: Do I look like one?

HB8.5 (target): Oh you look like this Thai guy we know in town, and he’s a dad.

TORNADO: Haha, but I’m younger .

HB8.5(target): Ha ha, you should have said your better looking.

TORNADO: Ok, I’ll be back to take your order in a second. (Over the shoulder) Hey , any of you guys from Thailand?

HB8.5: Haha, yeah I’m from Thailand.

TORNADO: Prove it. At this point I started speaking in Thai, and the target frozed. Ha ha, bullshit  (and I walk away).

When the table finished and paid the bills, the target reinitiated with me.

HB8.5; Hey I can speak Thai you know. She said “I’m Chinese” in Thai.

I playfully gave her a smile. I knew exactly what to say, I just didn’t have the balls to say it as my manager was watching us talking. I know I had the opportunity to number-close, but the risk is to high. So I let her go.

TORNADO: Hey you’re friends are gpne, but hopefully I’ll see you around.

HB8.5: yeah see you around.

She came back to the restaurant on Thursday with her friend. I had the chance to serve her table, and we had a casual talk.

TORNADO: I’m so sorry I have to meet you here. Otherwise we could’ve hang out, ‘cause you seem like a cool girl.

OBSTACLE: Just get her number (in Thai).
TORNADO: yeah that’s a good idea.

Left the restaurant card with my pen and walked away. Came back.

TORNADO: Do you still have my pen ?

The target handed me the card with her number and name written on it. I text game her the following day.

I texted her.

Day 2. Dinner at my place, a bottle of wine and a massage, and K-Close. She stayed the night we made out, but I couldn’t get passed her LMR. In conclusion, Asians are hard to break. This girl still has the accent, and she brought the Great Wall with her. There are some things that culture and upbringing that adds to girls LMR, even intensify it. The trick is you have to have extra trust and comfort.
