- unrelated to pickup - What's 'reputation' ?

I think you get 0.1 for every post, and if some clicks on the '+-', but how much is given for that? It seems like there's no difference in the + and the -, there's no way to subtract reputation.
Are there other ways of adding rep?

Also, what's 'votes'? is that how many polls you voted on?

You get some for every post. You can both add and subtract up to 3 from someone if you bother to actually go vote. The number of votes is the number of people who have voted to add or subtract from you.

Yup, that's about it. I'll just add that you vote for someone by clicking on the +/- buttons bellow the rep number. It's nothing at all to be concerned about one way or the other.
