I'm new to this...just finished reading the game. Now I want to try and learn some of this stuff...

The idea of it sounds great but most of the stuff I have read seems pretty stupid...especially watching the pick-up artist show, that was embarrasing.

I'm a decent looking guy, dress really well...have had moderate success with women in the past, but nothing compared to what I would like.

There seems to be an overwhelming amount of info out there now, I don't know where to start.

All replies are appreciated!!

First of all, are you comfortable to talking to strangers? To random women you meet in bars and in day to day situations?

This would be your first step. No lines needed. Just walk up to women, say 'Hi' and that's it. See the newbie challenge in the sticky section.

In the mean time, until you are comfortable that is, read some more material. A lot of stuff out there are not based on lines and pre-made routines. I could advise starting with David DeAngelo's double your dating and some of his other material. He works on improving your mind set and changing your limitation that you might have towards meeting women. I hear Vince DiCarlo's book is very good too, and so is a lot of other stuff. I think there is a sticky post somewhere about recommended reads for beginners.

Btw, "The Game" is in no way a pick-up reference manual. It's basicaly the story of one guy and how he went though with it and his experiences.

Enjoy !

Then go through the reads I've listed and go out and see what works best for you. Knowing a few canned routines is not a bad thing. It can act as a filler earlier in your interactions when you are out of things to say.

Check out Adam Lyons, El Topo or Gunwitch. They all have different styles, but they don't use a single canned line. Just straight up being the fun, interesting, sexual, dominant, BEST version of yourself.

Also, just go out there and practice. The best way to find what works for you is to get out there and see what gets results.
