I've just recently been turned on to the world of pick-up by my buddy who showed me The Game. Strauss claims that forums have helped him a ton, so here I am. I read it once six months ago and have just begun rereading it. It introduced me to many things I was "missing," but I still have one major problem: one-itis. I'm a romantic at heart and have an everlasting attraction to one girl. We were best friends, then stopped talking and then she started feeling the same way about me. She's ambivalent, though, and can't decide whether we should be friends or not. I know it sounds rather AFC of me, but I have yet to work up the courage to kiss close her.

I'm unsure what I should do in this situation. I would try to meet some more girls, but I have yet to learn the game. Any suggestions?

Here's what I would do just from personal experience:

Start small with kino and then escalate:
Thumb wars/palm reading/shoulder pats/arm nudges
Touch her back to lead her
Holding hands/whispering in her ear
Touching noses/triangular gazing
Kiss
(Look up the DiCarlo Kino Escalation Ladder for a more in-depth guide to kino escalation).

Also, don't change your style completely and suddenly. She will notice and in my experience, girls find it weird and manipulative. However, if you think that she isn't into you, you can remove yourself from her company for a few weeks, and then reintroduce yourself with a higher S&R value (peacock, get a hobby, etc.)

If you want to build up your confidence, just say hi to everybody you see in the streets. You'll no longer fear rejection. Also, you don't necessarily have to talk to girls to learn how to game. You can learn conversation from old ladies, nerds, teachers, men, you name it.

I'm definitely a romantic at heart so I understand where you're coming from, but just be warned if you stick in the community for too long, you might find that the world of girls is bountiful and you might find a better match elsewhere.

I wish you luck!

Wow man, thanks a ton. I now see where I was going wrong. I was trying to skip from the second step to the fifth step. Things felt off, it's easy to see after your reply. Appreciate your help!
