Hey everyone, new to the game, long time reader on the board.

There's this girl, I've known her since school and have always found a soft spot for her. See I was, as most of us on here, a bit of a shy lad at school. I was fat, shy and boring! My life has changed now since joining the armed forces and I'm proud to say that I am more confident, definitely look better and can chat to girls when needed!

Sorry for the life story but it shows how important this is to me!

So - I'm out last night, with my friend and his girlfriend.. Just as we're about to leave, my mate pulls his g\f off of the dance floor and she taps my arm and says 'long time no see' I say 'Ahh how are you?' with a thumbs up/down gesture, she returns saying 'really good thanks, you? you look good' I again return and say 'Thanks, you look amazing, I'm good but we're going now'

So my mates g\f chats to her for a sec and we all wave goodbye.

Now I want to contact this girl, she's on Facebook but, what do I say?

I need to build up something she would be interested in, my job is a good conversation starter but I want to build more than that since she already knows what my job is.

Can anyone help or give me some tips. I'll write out a draft of what I think I'll write and see if its any good.

i was in the exact same situation a few weeks ago, but i´m very new to the game so my advice may be crap. you´ve been warned.

we had mutual friends, so i got this girls msn, instead of facebook. and i think that i came off as a bit weird/needy/desperate.
we had some attraction going, and you seem to have as well. so it might work out.
(i´m meeting this girl tomorrow)
but, i think i would´ve handled it a bit different if i could do it again.
just be patient and play it cool, and wait until you two meet out at a club/whatever again instead, and game from there.
get her number instead of adding her on facebook, if you don´t close.

Well I would do, but I really want to take it slow with this girl. Plus the chances of me seeing her out again are slim due to the fact I work away, go out on weird nights and weird places. No doubt I will see her again, but its been 4 years since the last time!
