We'll, after a big crash and burn with a SHB10 at the mall, I went to a sports bar last night and chatted up an HB7 and an HB5. I was really interested in the 7 and was getting good feedback. After about 20min their food came so I left them alone but was sitting at the table next to them with my friends. The HB7 owed me a shot from the 5 questions game and I was waiting her out. After about 1/2, I engaged them again (I know, stupid) and was getting good feedback. Her friend went to the bathroom and the HB7 I got her number (she made me call her and put my name into her phone).

They went for a smoke and we watched their stuff at our table. They came back and their table was taken so they sat at our table and the HB7 sat next to me. We chatted a bit, then a trivia game came on and we played one round. I was keeping their interest, but in retrospect, I was operating somewhat in AFC mode.

After the 1st round, me and the girls went for a smoke (they initiated it). Outside, we chatted a bit and then they went to the bathroom and I went to the table with my buddy.

After 15min we didn't see them, my buddy went to the bathroom and on his way back, saw them alone by the pool tables in the corner (they said they wanted to play pool earlier). As soon as my buddy came back and told me that, we left w/o saying goodbye....

I know the mistakes I made but now my question now is: Should I text her or wait for her to text me? Someone in a previous post gave me this line: "Hey, I know you were in front of the phone like the hole time, waiting for me to text you. So I decided to put you out of your misery..." But, I also don't want to appear needy, get "oneitis", or give up Alpha status.

I know initially she was interested, but I think my lack of skills and the trivia killed the mood. She was 23 (I'm 37, but look much younger) and just my type so I would like to salvage if possible…

Text her soon to keep momentum going and keep those positive feelings associated with you in her mind. You can make some joke about something she said or you guys were talking about, like "I know you were probably too drunk to remember, but I haven't forgotten about that shot you owe me!" or you can use one of the classics like "I just saw your exact double!" or something. Point is to throw something fun out there, not even expecting or caring about a reply, assuming she remembers you. The lame text message is "Hi this is X, we met at bar Y, remember? Anyway what r u doing on Z day u wanna get a drink or something?" That number will probably flake when given something like that. Do a fun message where you're giving some value rather than seeming needy, and then wait for her to get back to you. Regardless of what she says back, unless it's "don't ever talk to me again" or something, just give her a call the next day and actually invite her somewhere like going out partying or bowling with some friends. Invitations over the phone are far better than invites by text in my opinion - they are much more personal and you're less likely to get a flake.

There may be some people who have some advanced "game" they run on the phone or via text, but to me, unless you guys can't meet up and you really want to keep the momentum going, in which case you might want to spend some time talking, just use the phone to set up a day two for god's sake...what are you gonna do...fuck her over the phone?

We'll, I waited her out and sure enough she texted me around 12:30 the next day saying it wsa great meeting me and that she wasn't blowing me off, she just had to talk alone with her friend...she didn;t know I was leaving...

Date with her next Tuesday....excellent
