Hey- Brand new to the forums.

I'm 39, but look about 27 and have a nice wardrobe and good social skills. I am pretty good at picking up girls but I always experience anxiety about my age (and revealing it.) Is there a specific thread or forum here with advice for older guys? I'm not really looking to lay a slew of college girls, but more meet some really cool late-20s women and find a real catch, if that makes sense. I'd like to hear from some other guys in their late-30s/early-40s about their experiences.

Specifically, I'd like to figure when is the best time to bring up my age. Should I just bring it up in an offhand way and get it out of the way, or never mention it until she asks? I don't mean to sound arrogant or anything, but I'm in sort of a rare situation because it is always a shock to the person I'm talking to when they find out I am 39. (I don't look quite as young as AFCAdam in the banner ad, but that's pretty much what I look like without the goatee.)

i have the same problem when i try to get girls 10 yrs younger than me. Im 28, they are 18 (not all of them of course but if I come across a youngin and theyre smoking hot i say why not right). my point is that i probably have a harder time getting them than you would have getting late 20's. 18 yr olds are alot more frigid and the age gap to 28 makes me out to be a fucking grandpa compared to them. but...i still pull it off because I let them know (indirectly) its completely normal to be with someone my age and that one does not connect with someone by age, but rather with the soul and on an intellectual level. they buy it (and its true).

if youre 39 and going for late 20's, thats pretty normal mate. A lot of girls like an experienced man as im sure you know.

You could try this...

When they ask your age and you know they are in their late 20's, say to her 'lets just say youre waaay too young for me...i only go for 25 yrs old and up'...they will immediately try to qualify themselves by saying...'but im 27!'. you say...'hmmm, 12 yr age gap...i GUESS i could do that, i prefer a 15yr gap though! My past girl friends in their late 20's proved to be somewhat less fun'. Yes youve just told them your age...but this re-frames it as if you normally only go for girls YOUNGER than her, but that youre making an exception for her....it completely takes her mind off the thought of you being too old for her. now its the other way round and she is the privileged one. also, you have just told her that you tend to stay away from girl her age as theyre not as much fun, once again she will start qualifying herself and try to show and prove to you that she IS alot of fun. see where this is going? Instead of worrying about her thinking youre too old, she is now WORKING to get you and qualifying herself to you! Psychology is a wonderful thing.

play games with your age and have fun with it....it doesnt have to be this daunting task telling them your age and waiting in suspense for them to blow you off because youre 'too old' for them.

Yeah I agree the the above post, that's good stuff. Use the age gap as a false disqualifier. Then it's out in the open AND working to get them to qualify themselves to you.

I'm fairly new too. I'm 37, but look around 30. After reading the game 3 weeks ago and spending the next 3 week sarging and researching, I'm lucky enough to have a date with a 23 and a 26 yr old next week. This sh%t is amazing. I can’t remember dating anyone under 32 in a long time.

When they bring up my age, I play with them: Like: Guess... blah blah blah. Then finally after playing with them for awhile, say "well let's just say I'm old enough to be your younger brother..." they chuckle, laugh, and you go right into a bit...

Most of the time, if they like you, they don't come back to it. That's the only thing I know. I would love to hear other techniques if anyone has them....

Have you ended up having to tell them your age?
