I'm currently 18 and am a freshman in college. Right now I want to focus on creating an image where I'm known as that fun guy. I read Conquer your Campus and I admit that it is a useful and helpful book, but I still have problems and need some detailed help.

-First off, I noticed that all my conversations I have with people are pretty boring. For example when I first meet someone I have the conversation about what classes are you taking and which dorms do you stay at and other boring small talk no one truly cares about or remembers. Then the conversation usually dies because I don't know what else to talk about.

-Another problem I have is when I'm at a party or a kickback(parties where theres music and more than 50 people and kickbacks where theres about 20 people and we're just in a room just drinking and hanging out) or whatever, I'm one of those people that are 'just there" so, I'm not creating any "buzz" towards my name. I don't say or do things that are "fun", so not only am I bored, but people near me are bored. I know its not my duty to entertain people, but by doing so I'll be having more fun and it'll create a certain "buzz" about me. That "buzz" will force people to remember me as that fun guy.

So I was wondering:
1) Are there any topics that are fun to talk about with both guys and girls? Preferably girls, but I do have trouble having "fun" conversations with guys too.
2)Do you have any suggestions,drills, or techniques(like teasing, joking, etc) that you think I and other people reading this should do to improve having "fun" conversations and just having better, longer conversations with all people in general.
3)What are some good openers I can use at loud, high energy parties that girls wouldn't see as another guy trying to hit on them.
4)What are some things that I can do at parties and kickbacks that would make the whole environment "funner" where people will have a way better time?
