Not sure if this goes here or the lounge but w/e.
I'm in a bi-lingual city and I speak English really well (grew up in NY) but my French isn't cut out for pick up, I can express most of what I want to say (I spoke it at home growing up but always to family never really in a social setting where I'd wanna be fun), but I can't pull off funny witty stuff or act as cocky with the same effectiveness. Any ways around this or tips on pulling ideas through the language barrier.

One of my friends has successfully overcome this problem.

The ONE thing you need is....
obviously.

CONFIDENCE.

it doesn't matter if you can't say anything. When I met this guy, he spoke barely any English. using a little effort, he figured out how to say *can i have your number*

and for the rest of the night, he was constantly using that ONE line. Hilarious to watch, AND successful . language barrier doesn't mean jack. Just act natural.
