Hello people

I have been listening to 'the power of now' by Eckhart Tolle and found it very enlightening. Its helped understand some of ideas related to the ego and why i act like an idiot unconsciously sometimes.

However, i now seem to be facing a paradox. For my whole life i have desired your average male goals (power status success women etc). But i see a conflict of interest between the two mentalities.

In stormys thread on inner game he seemed to hint that he was satisfied with a nice quiet life, and no longer had to desire to gain material good. I respect this, but i wonder what others goals there are to achieve rather then wealth and status, which at the moment seem very appealing.

inner fulfillment?

must you achieve a balance between being fueled by your ego, and not becoming an egomaniac.

p.s. i have little life experience
