I felt extremely bad after not talking to an HB7 on the street when I had the perfect opportunity to do so. There aren't many chances in this town and in my schedule to do this, so I feel terrible now, and it's going to be hard for me to get over it. I've put in hundreds of hours into studying PUA materials and some hours actually talking with women, but I haven't for a long time, so I'm afraid again.

What are some easy openers on the street, which I consider pretty difficult compared to clubs, that won't make me feel like a jackass, since I'm horrifically shy?

Hey man I have a bit of a feeling your problem is inner game not openers...strong inner game means you're comfortable in your skin and in whatever you're going to say to anyone whether it be HB1 or HB10...work on your inner game...look at some of hypnotica's stuff but don't over study it! Just get in the basics and get out there and take every opportunity you get regardless of whether it's few...
There are lots of guys who spend hours studying material after material but they don't practice...if you're really afraid of failing in front of a HB then you can always practice on some of the less attractive girls get your confidence levels up and Go After The HBs. Don't get stuck like lots of the guys who enter the game and get stuck studying constantly!

I do think it's inner game, because I've been an introvert my whole life and find it painful to approach women, but I also think it's about being prepared and in state, neither of which I had. I walked past her and realized I had made a mistake. I thought about going back, but I still wasn't prepared on what to do, because of my lack of experience. It would have been a lot different if I knew I was going to hit on a woman. From now on, I'll be prepared, of course.

Hypnotica is good--I've heard some of his material. Last night I meditated for almost an hour and a half, but I woke up this morning angry with myself for forgetting what to do in that situation, then realizing what to do when the heat was off.

That's another problem I have--I've read books and sites--tons of info--but I end up forgetting it because I never apply it. I have only been out few times in the last year--with almost no chance of getting out because I couldn't drive, and our public transit system is underdevoloped, where everything is spread out and few people go out. I was a lot more confident in Portland, Oregon, which is much bigger, where there are many more chances to practice and people all around all the time--made me feel comfortable, relatively.
