Hi.

One of my best friends is an AMOG, and I usually go out with him. Obviously, he focuses all attentions on him.

What should I do? Try a different target than him and let him be the centre of the group anyway? Or try another approach?

If that's the case move away from him and go do your thing because some powerful amogs can make it seem like you are invisible.

Ask him to help you. Let him know that it's tough to talk to girls around him. If he's a good friend, he'll offer to do whatever to help you out.

He can help you. You can observe his behavior and find out how he does this. If you know how then it will be easy to AMOG him after that(but I don't advice you to do it). It's better if you use this to your advantage. If you are talking to a group and like a girl you can isolate her and let your friend keep the rest of the group occupied. Also you can practice - in field you will encounter many AMOGs and it will be good for you to know how to deal with them. And after all he's your best friend. You should go out with him and have fun

In my experience guys like that WON'T help you out.
They're AMOG's. attention is always directed at them so why would they want you to steal their attention.

Go sarging alone or with a winger you can trust. Work together, not competing.

Honestly I think you need to balance things out a little bit. Don't always go out with him. Sometimes sarge alone or with another wing, and sometimes sarge with him. What this does is allow you to learn from him through observation, then on another day you can go out and apply what you've observed. Then when you sarge with him again you will be more confident in your skills and will be able to keep up with him in field.
The worst feeling I've ever felt was relying on an amog for guidance and feeling an almost discipleship need to follow him around. That's one of the reasons I started learning pickup, because I needed a better way to get good with women, that didn't involve learning from him. In retrospect, he did help me a lot because he gave me a great model of a naturally seductive male.
