I was wondering ... how long do you observe your target normally?

I've done the mistake of immediatelly approaching my target when I see her. Well, I don't know if that is a mistake, because I earned some kudos for my "braveness" from the other guys, but... how is this working for you?

And... does the 3-Second-Rule only apply to EC?
