1st off, I like the "big brother" thing but usually, I don't TELL them this stuff. I simply just ACT like a big brother.

You acted like a "little brother", but then TOLD her that you're her big brother which in my mind is a possible way to start up a LJBF relationship.

You have to go one way or another. This past winter, I number closed a girl with the naive nice guy approach much like the way you began your text example. I went up to the hottest girl at a crowded club(private birthday party) and after a simple chit chat told her, "See that girl? She's so gorgeous isn't she?" ("that girl" was already chatting with other guys)

So she gave me a little pep talk and gave me advice. She told to just walk right up to her, be nice to her, tell her my name, etc . . .(all that bullshit girls think is "game")

So I pretended I was really nervous and told her, "Here goes nothing." When I went up to the other girl, I really put up the terrible stuttering act. And directly afterwards, I asked her for her number while those guys stared at me, smirking as if I was the biggest loser in the World. After "that girl" told me off, I came back to the hottest girl in the bar (Who saw the whole thing) and quietly told her, "It didn't work." This girl looked at me as if her little brother had just scraped his knee. She touched my face . . . told me I could get any girl in the club, etc . . . (Caching! Number close . . . )

If you go that route, just stick with it.

If you go the "big brother route", just act like one and stick with it. Personally, I'd go for the "big brother route" here but seriously, drop the verbal confirmation. Just act like one.
