So I'm a freshman in college and I've come to know this girl over the past couple months. We seem to get along pretty well and she's even asked me to teach her a song on the guitar after she found out that I played. I gave her the lesson and things looked to be going pretty good until two thing happend:

1) My friend got really drunk the other night and told her that I liked her, to which I responded "wow what an asshole." (I didn't know what to say at the moment!)

2) She broke up with her boyfriend within the past month, but still has feelings for him. She's stated that it was a mutual agreement to break up with each other because she always relied on him to make her feel better about herself. She also said that she's not ready for a boyfriend right now (but this isn't because I made a move on her or anything like that)

My question is, what do I do next? Do I even have a shot with this girl or should I just move on and stay friends with her?

Any help will be much appreciated as I'm new to this PUA stuff!

If you act like nothing more than a friend, she'll want to be nothing more than a friend.

A woman likes to be lead. I get the impression that your giving off this friend vibe and once in that zone, it's very hard to get out of. Been there.

Ask her to join you outside of just the lessons or better yet,tell her you need to go get some strings at your local music shop and have her come along.
