I was gaming this girl in my class, but something happened, I'm not sure what, and she went cold on me. I think it was the phone call I made to her. I was too nervous calling her and I wasn't very friendly on the phone. But I think if I had made some deeper connections with her in class then she would have forgiven me, I don't know. I'm so frustrated by this.

You would be better off doing it at lunch or a break. Then you have to chat to her and find out things no one else knows, like chat about her ambitions and childhood.
Also a us vs them type thing usually works a charm for creating a connection. But with all of this you need to lead into it unless you are mehow.
