I'v been looking round the shops recently for some good peacocking items/clothes, however am a bit worried that they maybe too over the top for me. Should I be looking for something more subtle or should I just think 'What the hell, why not?"

Wear what you feel comfortable in, if you don't feel comfortable in what your wearing then peacocking will have the negative effect to what you want it to. If you feel uncomfortable starting full out, work up to it, get your ear pierced, some necklaces, rings, bracelets, etc. then work up to the OTT items.

Peacocking is absolutely unneccesary. Dressing in style however, is rare. (you know, pro hair cut, good style) That will make you stand out in a not-so-creepy way.

I know it seems goofy but I tried out the "black nail" thing before. For those 2 weeks, I could just go up to a bar and giggly girls upon giggly girls opened ME. Some guys would go, "What the fuck is wrong with you?" . . . "What the hell is that!?"

Actually it is not important. You are asking the wrong question. You should be asking, will I enjoy peacocking or will I hate it. If you will hate it, why would you do it? If you will like it, try it. I peacock whenever I feel like it but I do not always feel like dressing up in crazy clothes. Sometimes I go out unshaved, crappy T-shirt and old worn out jeans and it works for me anyway. The thing that matters is how you act and that is a direct effect of how you feel.

No, peacocking is not "needed" but some people find it easier to game when peacocked. Some people feel that it is more difficult. And some people do not care.

Most of the rules of the game are merely guidelines. Remember, AFC guys get girls too. (And I hate it.)

Hey, I am very VERY peacocked out, but since it is very congruent with who I am, It's not considered over the top. I am mixed with black and white and I

have extremey curly hair- see: corbin bleu

I wear TONS of "surfer" necklaces and a few silver chains- see: criss angel or russell brand

The ONLY sneakers I wear are Adidas, always with the tongue sticking out, or cowboy boots (never with the outside showing) or moccasins

I have my lip pierced twice, see: snake bites

huge diamond earings, about the size of a quarter

and I dress either very casual or very fancy, depends on my mood. But, I am also a comedian, rapper, painter ect. So this style is very congruent with my lifestyle and who I am, so it is not considered over the top.

It's really all about who you are, what you want to accomplish and how you think you can best accomplish it. When everything is working together in unity, it will come off as normal on you.

With that being said, I get compliments all the time on how my accessories or hair look, depending on what they do, I simply say "haha thanks, but that's not going to get you into my pants any easier"

My FAVORITE one is when a girl comes up to me and tells me how much she loves my hair.

I simply say

"Thanks, I grew it myself" that always gets a laugh and a smile.

heh. peacocking is fun. i've been doing it before i knew what peacocking was.
and its harder for me to approach girls if i dont have the right things on. when i approach girls in malls, and i have my gear on, i feel sexy and i feel like they think that too and its easier to open haha.

It seems like you don't need to peacock with some sort of elaborate hat or extremely over the top, why don't you just find some kind of crazy jewlery like a tacky plastic ring and when she notices say your little sister gave it to you or something.
