My brother and I like to breakdance and so we participate in competitions every month or so. These competitions are obviously public, so usually several days after the competition when we're at the mall, we get stopped by people who were there, asking if we were in the competition, and how long we've been dancing, etc. A lot of times it's guys, but sometimes a cute girl approaches us and well, we're not quite sure how to respond other than yes and no straightforward answers. yeah uh.... we suck pretty much. Any suggestions on how to respond and get the conversation longer than five seconds? Thanks.

I think I'm hearing that you guys know that what you are doing is a huge DHV spike but you aren't getting anything from it. If it were me I would try to say something cocky funny or neg by pretending like you remember seeing her there and say "You weren't that creepy girl that was staring at me the whole time were you?" She will of course say no. Then you can proceed by asking her questions to get her to jump through your hoops. Ask her what she was doing there; how she got interested in breakdancing; then just talk about what it's like for you. Why you do it, why you like it etc. Then transfer into other "normal" stuff, routines, or whatever else you like to use. The cool thing is that you have them approaching you and they aren't strippers or prostitutes!!!
