Hello,
hottie at work, we are both teachers. she is new and I am the veteran with about 10 years in this school. asked her the other week for a coffee. unexpectedly she said, whenever you want. Now when I see her I just go "weirdo" big time and feel mental paralysis cut in.
We dont work in the same department but usually see her a few times a day and always askk the same lame questions, how are you? how is your day? or try to make some witty comment but afterwards feel like a prick.
Feel like I might have one itis coming on and dont want that.
Any suggestions?

If u feel oneitis setting in, u need to do what most people would advise, got out and crack onto ten other girls, give them all your game and put ur best work in. If by the 10th girl u havent found summin to distract u and u still thinkin bout "the one" then u shud do what any decent player would do, admit defeat. If this girl cant be forgotten after 10 other poeple then maybe she really is that special...

other than that if u dont want to get into it, just come across as a jerk

thanks. Thing is, she really is nice, guess I am going to have to say something like, "well, when are we going to go for that coffee?" or something.(I know it sounds really lame) It is at work and if the other teachers found out I crashed and burned I would feel a bit stupid.
Anyway, fortune favours the brave and all that.
will try to get her into a bit of conversation next time I can and then ask her again.

I am clearly just thinking far too much about it and like you say, should get out there and get off with a dozen odd other hotties or ask her for that coffee either way, I am not asking her to marry me either so it is no big deal.
God knows why us guys build this shit into such a big deal!!

I think the reason you're feeling one-itis coming on is partially from her response. When she said "whenever you want" to getting coffee, it put the ball back in your court, and you had to worry about responding the right way and not creeping her out. I'm guessing you might have spent a LOT of time thinking about this, and ended up emotionally invested. On the plus side, it means you can stop worrying about her so much, because your feelings don't come from her inherent specialness; they come from her making you chase her. Dating a coworker is messy anyway. Why not go meet some other girls?
