So I have this ex that things really didnt work out with. It was a messy situation all throughout and things ended even more messy.

Its been a few months since the ending but only about a month since the final goodbye. It was more like a final 'fuck you' from her when she saw me with another girl. She was the one that wanted it to end but for some reason I was the bad guy for moving on first. Go figure.

Anyways, I am curious about moving forward. I am not so naive to think that you can maintain a friendship with everyone you have dated. However, I live in a small town and we have a lot of the same friends so I want to do what I can to make things cool.

In a situation like this, is it best to approach her first or just wait until it happens or what?

not sure there's a right answer to this one, but personally I'd give her space, and she'll come back to you if interested.

Just remember things ended for a reason, and w/ 3.5 BILLION women on this planet, there's absolutely no good reason to go backwards.

i come from a small town myself........

LEAVE IT BE....

your already seeing another girl or hanging out if you go and try to make cool with your ex well maybe that other girl will end up leaving you thinking your not over her and then your fucked, and possibly known as the guy who cant let go...

if i was in your shoes i be laughing, dont worry bout the ex it was her decision to break up with you, id let her sweat it if she is, she is just pissed you found someoen first and she is single , shit if she had a boyfriend already and you said what the fuck to her, she would blow you off and tell you to fuck off once again.......

dont worry bout her and go do your thing

Thanks!! This really hit home for me. For some reason I have been hangin on to this chick and I havent been able to let go. Your comment, for whatever reason, really helped. Its not the first time Ive heard it, I think its just that this time I understand.

Interesting how we do that. People always post on here about how to get over an ex, or how to get over one-itis. Time is really the only way. Eventually it gets to be too hard to care about it anymore. You stop caring about caring.

Anyways, thanks!! I guess the next step in the process is to bump into her and have it be cool (or at least not bother me). When that happens I think I will be all good.
