I learned something important about myself last night. It's useful knowledge, but I'm not sure what use to make of it yet. For the time being, bars and nightclubs are off my list, though. I can't thrive there. There are approximately three things to do at these venues: drink alcohol, listen to the music/dance, and socialize. I don't like drinking all that much and I'm mostly indifferent to music. I'm not yet to the point where I enjoy socializing with strangers for its own sake. The upshot is that bars and nightclubs just aren't fun. It's hard to project an aura that says "I'm a fun person" when the environment is unexciting. It only gets worse when I start dwelling on the notion that I'm going to be a killjoy or that if people knew I wasn't having fun, they'd think I was a freak. Even the friends I went with looked at me funny when I declined to have a fourth beer. Just thinking about that exchange makes me feel like a social retard.

After I left, I was thinking about what is fun for me and I realized that either by coincidence or, more likely, subconscious design, the things that I find most fun are the least conducive to freestyle socializing. It's frustrating because bars and nightclubs are where people concentrate solely for the purpose of being sociable. I can't pretend to love music, though, and I am angry at myself that I seem more capable of having fun in social situations only when I'm drunk.

If you don't like to socialize, why are you even here? GAMING = socializing.

I'm trying to learn to enjoy socializing, hence my statement that I don't YET enjoy it for its own sake. Becoming more sociable is one of my major goals of learning this stuff. Right now, it's an awkward, uncomfortable experience driven by me not knowing how to participate in a conversation with normal people.

Hey man I know exactly what you mean

For some reason Ill get out in a large crowd and I get really sleepy.

I'm working on it though and I'm going to keep trying till it works.

If you don't like going to bars and clubs you could try day game at malls or other places like that. Or you could just start making friends with as many people as you can and meet girls through them.
