Bad
Everyone already knows each other, have their own cliques and been building their relationships for 8 months or more prior to my arrival.
I also have 2.5 months left in school, and about 1 month before I start seriously mugging.
Good
There are girls on my floor and in the building!
As for my skillset, I'm pretty comfortable with approaching people now, haven't really been working on openers and transitions though. I tend to go towards comfort too quickly and end up as 'some guy we met'.
Any tips on how to live the next few weeks?

Nothing cooler than the "new guy in town" who gains the respect of all the guys in short order. (He can't possibly be too bad can he??)
Get a good feel for the current situation. There will be guys who are "into" specific girls who don't know what the hell they are doing. . . even if they have good social skills. You can be an asshole and jack a guy's chick saying, "Hell, they're up for grabs and you have no game . . ." But what do you really get in the long run?
If you have game, pick the ones that the guys like, but think they can't get because she's too hot or whatever. Big difference. . . and all the while, do what you can to pawn her friends to your buddies.
Anyhow, start off with befriending your roommate.
