If you do it at a happening area, like a downtown area of your city or something or in a club. I highly doubt you will look stupid, but more very out going and very well the life of the party type of person. In turn this can work very well in your favor. As it shows you have a ton of confidence and you are a fun guy.

If anything, it's good practice.

Good practice and if you are going under the radar people will look at you and think you are a sociable guy that knows everyone (DHV).
Quick tip don't just talk to hot girls, chat to guys and unattractive women too otherwise you may look like you are hitting on women. Also the unattractive women are usually the most fun to talk to and will come say hi when they see you out in the future. Eventually you end up with your own little bubble of awesomeness where all the women say hi and want hugs, it's similar to Adam Lyons' entourage game but easier on the phone bill.

Always good practice imo and plus even if u do look stupid, its only to 1 chick and there are millions of hot chicks out there.. u have to fail to succeed in the end...
