AFC to PUA Explained

Do you really want to know what it takes to become a PUA?

The answer might not be what you want to hear but I will explain it to you.

There are tons and tons of small differences that seperate a person who is starting out on this journey as an AFC and a PUA. We could all sit here and try to list the infinite differences that we'll never complete or we can look at the core elements.

Core elements exist that are the 'main' things that seperate these two types of people. I'm not saying that I have all the differences listed below so continue to add to this post but in my experience here are the key elements.

These all boil down to the thought processes that each have.

#1 TRUE BELIEVERS

A pickup artist believe's without a doubt that his method will work to get him the girl. Regardless of which method you choose to use. He believes it through and through that others have made it work, and it's a matter of time before he can as well. Perhaps he's seen results himself, from others, or read about it and he is inspired.

You can not tell this person it's not going to work.

#2 DEDICATION & WILLINGNESS TO FAIL

Someone who really wants to get better is dedicating himself to this process. He really doesn't care what it takes to improve this area of his life. He is going to go out there come "HELL OR HIGH WATER" and will open sets. There can be 5 feet of snow on the ground and he wants to go out sarging. He has the "junkie itch" to go talk to girls.

He further knows that he is going to have to fail, and fail a lot! He knows because he's a true believer that eventually it WILL work. He has to gut it out and get through these failures so that he can be successful. Every major/minor PUA in the game has gone through long periods of going out 3-4 nights a week for months to get better.

The "I'll make it work" thought process is at work here.

#3 CONSTANT ANALYSIS & GROWTH

Being a true believer and wanting to minimize his failures he is analyzing what he is doing and looking to improve. This person probably shares his experience with trusted friends and might even write field reports to get alternative methods for achieving his goals.

He sits down at the end of the evening trying to figure out what caused things to either work or not work. From there he forms a plan to be better the next time out. This process is then repeated for as long as it takes for him to see results or get better results.

You will not see this person only sitting at home studying materials from half a dozen different guru's. In addition to studying he is actually going out to apply what he has recently learned.

This person has the mentality no pickup is perfect and that there is always room for improvement!

This goes for inner game, out game, and even in their personal life.

TIP: Teaching others what you can, like on the forum, is a great way to learn. Because if you're wrong others will point out your mistakes.

#4 LIFESTYLE

Is one of the last key 4 components that I've identified. The pickup artist does things to improve his quality of life and thus makes him more attractive. This could come in many forms from teeth whitening, working out, taking on new hobbies, etc.

He is stragetically becoming the best "himself" that he can be. He goes out with friends and starts to live a lifestyle that women will find attractive.

Furthermore, the pickup arts don't just become a hobby they become a way of life to a degree. It's not his only focus in life, but it is the driving force behind many of the improvements he makes for himself.

awesome post man! i think im on the right track after reading this

i wonder, this lifestyle, do you ever regret it or regret doing some of the things that you will get caught up in. ie. going out too often. I do not know, im just turning 16, but it seems to me that theoretically, wont you feel a certain emptiness or hollowness going out with all these different women and having sex, etc. Im just curious because im getting caught up in this and i just really want this to not become a mistake.

well, i think getting to know the game is a pretty major step in your life, it will boost your confidence with girls and everything else is life basically.

but only in a good way, cause you know the system and you know you will be able to get any girl you want, its just a matter of how much game you have.

you dont have to screw every hot girl you see or whatever, you still can go out with your friends and not even pay attention to any girl whatsoever.

its just want you want man, do you want hot girls in your life and people looking up to you, teach your friends and maybe in later stages in life your sons?

or do you want to get lucky occasionally, sometimes feel lonely and clueless what to do with girls, and eventually settle with a girl at age 25 which youre not really sure off its gonna work out.

i know which one i'd chose

These are good questions. I think a lot of us get into this so we can get a relationship with a great girl. Then we see this PUA Lifestyle some lead of all these women and things. Some of us the gravitate to that shiny object.

Yes, I do regret some of the things I've done, especially when confessing them to my LTR now. I am still better for the experience though, and wouldn't change a thing.

It is what you make of it. You can choose from a variety of lifestyle's. I lived one of the lifestyle's for a while. Then regained focus and got the LTR I wanted to have. It's still a journey I'd do over again.

It's your choice which path to take. Like he said you can go out have fun and do this, and you don't have to take her home to be great at it either.

Lol i have to work on the #2 rule dedication and willingness to fail. Although i am dedicated to learning PU and the material, i do not have the motivation to go out there and fail.

I feel as if i fail, it will give me DLV but at the sametime not going out i am also DLV. I just can't bare to witness failure but its the only way to learn and undertstand this stuff.

#5. Integration. (My opinion only)

Take what you've learned about human behavior and interaction and then apply it to other facets of your life. Did you bore the hell out of your boss by kissing his ass? Did you challenge your work group? Are you able to put a smile on a stranger who seems down and blue? How about dealing with your own family members in a more positive, fulfilling direction? Can you grab the attention of little brats who are messing up your yard and convince them in a positive way to have fun in another way?(This is really no different from picking up women really . . . )

How can you use what you learned to improve your academic life? (Ever convince a teacher or professor that you deserve an A instead of a B+?) Think about your professional life, your daily interactions with anybody and everybody . . .

Many more things you can do with these skills than getting a girl's number . . .

I completely agree. That's what I was trying to get across in the "LifeStyle" part. It extends to all aspects of your life.
