Yes, you should call her later that day and ask how she's doing, have a bit of a chat and talk about getting together again. Some will want to, some won't. The ones you do meet up with again, you can turn it into an ongoing thing but they usually fizzle out after a while as they have a habit of getting themselves a boyfriend. Sometimes the girl already has a bf and will tell you after you have sex, that or the next day before she leaves... I usually call it off if that's the case, but your morals may differ to mine so you can do as you wish.

Just call her and tell her you had fun and she's a really nice girl, but you don''t want it to turn into a "thing". That's how I'd do it, if she's mature she'll understand.

I'm on the road a lot, so I often won't see them. But if I do, and we hook up, I'll usually try to send them some sort of text the next day.

I don't call but I do send a text telling her that I have something going on that night and if she wants to come along she can. This makes her know that you have a life going on and if she doesn't join you then you already have something planned and you'll hit her up later.
