My ex froze me out. Three plus year relationship, but it's over now. She wasn't a jerk about it, but she definitely made it clear she didn't want to be friendly or hang out with me. She drove two hours yesterday (we were long distance) to work her last shift and pick up her things.

i was pretty upset for a few hours, but read a post that gave me best perspective on this situation. Treat her like she is dead. You can still reminisce about the past, but you can't contact her and you can't search her facebook/myspace pages. I'm going to keep her on, but I know I have will power not to do searches. I also removed her from my aim list (which she is on everyday at work), this way I won't be reminded of her everyday.

I loaned her some money (total AFC move), so she will send me a check every month and I will send her a spreadsheet with the current balance. I gave her a loan at 3% so, the only consolation is it is more than my savings account (ING). I'm hoping that will be my only contact.

My next step is to stop being Mikey from Swingers. This past month I felt just like the main character from that movie. Remember how he used to come home and check his machine every night...that has been me, checking my voicemail and email at unhealthy intervals.

As I type this up she Im's me. I had to accept the conversation, I looked no need to respond...then she jumped off after a couple minutes.

I'm ready to be Mikey at the end of the movie. I met some girl from craigslist on Thursday. It was a little wierd plus she had the face of an ant eater. I'm not going back there.....

I made plans with some girl I always thought of as my back up. She doesn't know I'm on the market, and actually when we were talking over aim she was asking alot of questions about me and my ex. I'm pretty excited about meeting up with this girl. I just need to let her know me and the ex aren't an item anymore (I haven't told any of my friends either).

Hoping this is really a new leaf. I just needed to post something and hear some words of encouragement.

it can be rough, and i totally understand on the compulsive message-checking. hang in there.

you sound like you're doing well; like you have your head on straight. keep it up, keep busy, and don't worry too much. keep on rockin'!! ;)

Been there bro. Sounds like you are dealing with it pretty good though...better than me at least. I was an idiot when she firest ended it doing all the wrong things...however I didn't know it until it was too late. Just learn from it and move on ya know. Sounds like you got that taken care of though.
