Thats called the Mr. Smooth approach. You just say how you feel as told through the eyes of your friend. example:

PUA: My friend thinks that you are hot.
HB: Thanks
PUA: He would really like to get to know you better
etc...

No one uses Mr. Smooth because it has a pretty crap success rate. When it works, it works well, but you'll find much more success with direct game than you will working with a shield like "My friend."

I actually think thats an afc opener , i think i used it one time when i was younger as an Afc but that doesnt work at all.

There are a few problems with this approach. The first is finding a willing and useful pivot - and I can almost guarantee that you will not find one by approaching some random woman and asking. She won't understand what you're doing, and if you do manage to explain she will probably view you as a creep. The best pivot is a female friend who already knows and likes you.

Also, the most likely result of this opener is that both women - your pivot and your target - will suspect that you're trying for a threesome. Your target will hear "My [female] friend thinks you're hot," and think "How do I escape from the crazy bisexual swingers who probably have many diseases?"

Finally, try to avoid the word 'hot'. Believe me, we've all heard it before, and it is only flattering if you're very drunk and kind of dumb. If you must compliment, do it after you've established rapport and are close to a phase-shift. Words like "sexy" and "attractive" are always better than "hot," and try to use them regarding a certain feature or behaviour. For example, "You're very well-spoken. I find intelligence extremely sexy in a woman," is better than "You're sexy." A good compliment should be original, memorable and polite.

with good body language and even little knowledge about calibration everything would work...

once I opened a girl with:
lite: Hey, I've got a question... are you a nympho?
HB: NO?!
lite: Well, you surely look like one... (big smile)...
HB: I'm definitely not a nympho! (big smile)
lite: So what's your name then? blablabla

and this one works nice for me:
lite: Hey, I have to tell you something that you might find offending... (little pause) but I have to tell you this... (little pause)
HB: Ok, tell me...
lite: (checking her out) you have a really great body (big smile)...
HB: (big smile) thank you, blablabla

there are openers that won't work for some girls, and to use any type of these openers you have to calibrate her first...

opinion opener is neutral one - almost always work...

calibration, relaxed body language, great inner game and there's no need to worry about the opener.

A couple of good openers that have worked good for me in the past especially when opening up a two or three set (amount of girls in a group) is this.

This will enact a natural response to answer a question given. Women won’t feel like your coming onto them and you can easily gauge their intrest level by how they answer the question. If they give a quick retort NO!. Then say thanks and eject. If they add a little bit of their own advice mixed in with a little laughter. Move in and escalate.. because that’s a huge IOI (indicator of interest)!

Haha, thanks I’ll tell him. (walk away and then turn back quickly) I almost forgot, what’s your names? so I can tell him about the sexy ladies i asked to give him advice. Note: Shake their hands as they introduce themselvs. (Its extremely important to show INTENT in a pickup because without a clear line drawn indirectly stating I think your beautiful and would love to go out with you made, The women your picking up will think your just a FRIENDLY GUY and friendly guys don’t get the girl.)
I find a little humor goes a long way to really get women in the right mood/mindset when the girl you have your eye on shakes your hand, just say..

If she has ANY interest she’ll laugh and defend herself in a playful manner. This is KEY if you don’t get IOI’s such as laughing and engagement in your conversation YOU NEED TO EJECT!

Then while your friend is entertaining the boys or just the majority of the group you can isolate the HB for some cold reading eg.

PUA: Hmm i only just noticed you wearing those rings, is there a reason you wear them on your index/middle finger/thumb etc.
HB:blahblahblah
PUA: you know they have like personality tests for stuff like that? i can already tell a great deal about you.
HB: Oh like what?

*take her hand and islote her, followed by the ring routine*

Make her feel good and follow with the trust game.
Put her hands on your hands then move your hands down. If her hands move down with yours she passes, then you squeeze her hands and if she squeezes back she passes.

unless you bring it like a joke... you could do this: i've been walking straight up to the hottest girl in the room (3 sec rule) and i just make her spin and say "oh my god, look at you.....".."you are soo hot!!"....but i actually dont really scan her body like a real afc would,... she suddenly notices: this guy does not even think i'm hot, he's just making fun of me! he's acting like one of those stupid afc guys, but he's actually just acting out a lie!! you have to have a great follow-up btw in which you act very reservered/un-affected by her beauty etc... that way you can get away with it... she must think you are not telling the truth if you go for telling her about her appearance
