anyone got any cool idea's how to remember names?

i can literally forget what a girl's name is 5 seconds after she has just told me because i open so much in bar/club its very busy for my head to remember aswell as tyring to be interesting and body language and eye contact etc they only way i remember names is when i number close them, i say "type in your name too as i suck at spelling"

and last night i got a great interaction from a girl then at the end she asked me what her name was ? and i got it wrong, so i think i got flaked

bah!! i need a new brain

anyone got any techniques? to remember their damn names?

i have the same problem but i've noticed that i remember the names if i've spoken to the set for a while (say 10-15 mins) before getting their names...
there's some name game thing in the venusian arts handbook that might help you, cant remember it though (oh the irony)

another technique that might work is to repeat their names after they introduce themselves or while you're shaking their hands or whatever.

her "whats my name?"
me "you forgot your own name?"

Heres how I do it...

Say a HB introduces me to her friend...

(HB) Hey this is my friend Lisa.....

(ME) Hey Lisa (Smile) (Shake hands or what ever)

(ME) So Lisa bla bla bla bla

Its simple just try to repeat the persons name as soon as your introduced.
Then start a small conversation etc and try to mention her name again somewhere in it

Or just be honest and say.. Hey Lisa Im gona have to mention your name a few times as were talking because im real bad at remembering names!!

If you use the second example it tends to strike up a conversation straight away

my buddy told me to use this.......

open her hand and spell her name letter by letter with your hand and do it slowly and erotically for good kino, maybe try to misspell her name so she corrects you

so its kino and a cool way to rememeber her name

then maybe get her to do the same thing on you with your name

I usually don't bother asking their name, usually they will tell you after about 5 minutes then you should have learnt enough about them for them to stick in your mind.
Also another classic is spinning the whole thing on its head, just before you go for a number or eject ask her what your name is. Then by implying you remember hers you should be in the clear. Nicknames are also good, if at any point in the conversation you forget their name, make one up for them.

Maybe you are too into "what should I say" that you are not really listening to what the person is saying. Really Focus on the details you are getting and less on what you are going to say and see if that helps.

Also doing what the other person said seems be great tool also, repeating her name at the start of your sentences like

"Listen to this Lisa....."

Also even if she said it, and you forgot Midway through the conversation... it is OK to ask her, its better that you show interest into remembering her name than to not remembering it at all at the end when its kinda of 'too late'.

Had the same problem long ago, but have since been able to just straight up memorize them through practice. But the best way I found to remember names is to first admit that you're horrible with names then tell her you have devised a way to remember them through key words. Then say something like, "You seem like you are a really great stalker so I'm going to call you 'Stalking' Stacy". Be creative. I used to have a list of words to attach to names but I lost it, it should be somewhere in these forums.

You could also tell them your name and ask them to don't forget it or else they owe you a drink. Then tell them the next time you come around you expect them to give you the biggest warmest greeting they could ever give. The next time you come along they'll be shouting your name loudly and giving you hugs. Social proof.

I just noticed I worded that whole thing terribly, but I'm super tired. I'll probably end up finding the thread that had all of this later on.

I just thought of a pretty basic exercise that might help with remembering names, watch TV. Pick a show you have never seen before and try and remember as many character names and one thing which makes them memorable as possible, this should help you get better at remembering names and putting random qualities with the name.
For example; in a set four girls one guy lets say their names are Lisa, Alice, Jenny, Laura and Tom. Where they are stood remember the layout as a string of letters (LAJLT) then any repetitions give qualities Lisa has glasses, or Laura is my target.

At the end of the day if you can remember two names remember the ugliest girl and your target. This way if they call you on it you are all good with the target and you will set up all the girls prettier than the ugly one by forgetting their name and yet remembering the ugly ones name.

Guys names are usually pointless to remember, they can be called dude or man and be just as happy.
